  1. Hi Andy,

It’s nice to see someone compile a list of homebrew shops.

Would you be so kind as to update your records for the homebrew shops in Edinburgh? Alba Homebrew has closed down, and Edina Homebrew has moved and changed it’s name – we are now The Brewstore, 61 South Clerk Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9PP. Tel : 0131 667 1296. and email:

We’re doing all we can to get as much information about the new shop on the web, as Edina was at the same place for 30 years so we’re trying to get the new information on as many sources as possible and the old address off, to avoid people turning up to the old place! Would be great if you could help us on that one.

    • Hello Shirley

We may have met, I was at the Bo’ness beer festival about 4 years ago and Edina Homebrew were there demonstrating their kits was it you that was handing out tasters?

Thanks for the up to date details, I will make the changes after I have double checked.

    • Sarah says:

Sadly the Home Brew shop in Lingfield, Surrey closed its doors on the 5th September 2015 for the last time.
Their website is still active, but there’s no mention of if they’re still trading or if they have any intention of moving else where (really hope they do as we really lack a good knowledgeable Homebrew shop around this way and Sussex and I DON’T want to go to Wilkinsons for my yeast! hehe)

      Details you have are:

      East Grinstead Home Brew
      Unit 3,
      1-11 East Grinstead Road,
      RH7 6EP
      Telephone: 01342 836457

But like I say, the website is still running at the moment.
